Berkshire Community Land Trust’s Farmsteads for Farmers presents Kiss the Ground, a compelling film about regenerative farming and climate impact. Considered by many to be the “Most Important Film You’ll Ever Watch”, Kiss the Ground draws a straight line from regenerative farming to offsetting climate harms. The screening will be followed by a panel moderated by Katy Sparks (Edible Natural World) featuring Berkshire County farmers Elizabeth Keen (Indian Line Farm), Anna Houston (Off the Shelf Farm), and Will Conklin (Sky View Farm/Greenagers). This film and the ensuing panel will discuss practical, clear and hopeful actions that will create a better future in the Berkshires and around the globe.
This event is taking place on the anniversary of the dedication of River Run Farm. Berkshire Community Land Trust’s Farmsteads for Farmers initiative is currently fundraising to acquire River Run Farm for its first lessees – Anna Houston and Rob Perazzo of Off the Shelf Farm. The film and panel are free, reservations are highly recommended, and donations are much appreciated.

Connections Concert Series is a partnership between Valley-based musicians, teachers and creative entrepreneurs Sophie Lippert and Charlotte Malin. The series is a re-imagining of the traditional concert experience that addresses our society’s growing need for meaningful human connection. At Connection Concerts, the audience is invited to listen somatically, imaginatively, and intellectually; to engage in conversations with strangers about their experience; and to explore music written by underrepresented classical composers from around the world. Connections Concerts is proudly sponsored by Falcetti Pianos and the Amherst Cultural Council.

Mixed media artist Annaleah Moon Gregoire of Greenfield, Massachusetts makes sculptures that investigate and explore the boundaries between physicality, emotion, and technology.Gregoire references historical and contemporary medical and scientific documents to portray both the physical and emotional complexity that makes us human. Unpleasantly Beautiful illuminates the uncomfortable and honest pain of healing by deconstructing anatomy layer by layer, using etched glass to communicate these complex layers. In the artists own words: “By peeling back layers of flesh and bone, I am able to freely investigate the dualities of the interior and exterior as well as the grotesque and beautiful. I find beauty in looking at the remnants of transformation – what is present yet invisible, what rots over time, and what invokes a visceral reaction.”Gregoire earned a BFA in sculpture from the California College of Arts in 2021 and is currently involved with teaching art in both private and public settings. She also works as a freelance artist and runs a small apparel business featuring her illustrations. There will be an opening reception Saturday, May 4 from 2-4 pm. All are welcome.
