Construction is wrapping up on the MGM Springfield casino. The company says it is exceeding diversity goals when it comes to minorities, women and veterans.
So far,about a fifth of the workhas been done by racial or ethnic minorities, 6 percent ahead of their benchmark for the project. And they are over their goal for women working to build the resort too. This is all in an industry where it's been hard for women and minorities to break in.
Also this week, the Berkshire Museum released several financial documents, shining some light on the museum's financial situation. Officials there are in the midst of a controversial plan to sell part of its collection to raise funds, they say, are needed to survive.
Some day, retail sales of marijuana will begin in Massachusetts. And that has left some in law enforcement scrambling to deal with a potential increase of people driving while high.
